It’s those thoughtful gifts that can mean the world to someone, and on this girl’s high school graduation day, she received a priceless gift.
It was her first day of school that he bought her Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, The Places You’ll Go.” And from that first kindergarten day, he had been working toward completing an amazing surprise.
When he said he wanted to give her a graduation gift, she thought it would be some cheesy card. When he handed her a copy of the book she smiled, said it meant a lot to her and that it was one she loved.
He told her to open it.
She started tearing up.
On the first page there was a short paragraph written by her kindergarten teacher.
“Every year, for the past 13 years, since the day you started kindergarten, I’ve gotten every teacher, coach, and principal to write a little something about you inside this book.”
He had managed to keep it a secret for 13 years, and she burst into tears.
She read through the encouraging and sweet words from her favourite teachers, all mentioning her humour and love for life.
Her priceless gift, moving, touching, nostalgic, and a true labour of love.
